Ford Focus - A Comprehensive Guide to Bulb Replacement
When it comes to maintaining your Ford Focus, ensuring that all the bulbs are functioning correctly is essential for safety and legal compliance on the road. Bulbs are a vital component of your vehicle, providing visibility at night and during poor weather conditions, as well as communicating your intentions to other road users. This page is dedicated to helping you find the right bulbs for your Ford Focus, whether you're looking for headlight bulbs, indicator bulbs, or tail light bulbs.
Choosing the Correct Bulbs for Your Focus
Finding the correct bulbs for your Ford Focus need not be a complex task. It is important to select the right type of bulb to match the specific requirements of your vehicle model. The Ford Focus, being a popular model, has a variety of bulb options available that are designed to fit perfectly and provide optimal illumination. Whether you are looking for halogen, xenon, or LED bulbs, it is crucial to ensure compatibility with your Focus model year to guarantee both performance and safety.
Headlight Bulbs for Enhanced Visibility
Headlight bulbs are one of the most critical safety features on your Ford Focus. They not only enable you to see the road ahead after dark, but they also ensure that other drivers can see you. Over time, headlight bulbs can dim or burn out, which is why it is important to replace them promptly. We offer a wide range of headlight bulbs, including standard replacements and upgrades for improved brightness or a different colour temperature.
Indicator and Tail Light Bulbs for Clear Signalling
Effective signalling is key to safe driving, and that's where indicator and tail light bulbs come into play. These bulbs are used to signal your turning intentions and to show the position of your car to other road users, especially in low visibility conditions. It is essential to check these bulbs regularly and replace them if they fail to ensure clear communication on the road.
Easy Installation and Long-Lasting Performance
Our selection of bulbs for the Ford Focus are designed for easy installation, allowing you to replace your old bulbs with new ones with minimal effort. They are also built to last, providing long-lasting performance and reducing the frequency of replacements. When selecting bulbs, consider the longevity and the brightness to ensure that you are choosing the best option for your driving needs and preferences.

What kind of Bulbs are Used in Cars?
We have a massive range of bulbs for all types of vehicles. If you’re looking for something energy efficient, then purchase one of our LED car bulbs. They are exceptionally bright plus they will drain less energy from your car battery.
There are 3 main types of bulbs used in vehicles.
These common bulb types are:
Halogen Bulbs
Halogen bulbs are fitted to most cars because they're more cost-effective to manufacture offering a cheaper replacement than other bulb types. They fitted to most types of cars today.
They cost less than Xenon or LED bulbs and at GSF Car Parts we stock a vast range of halogen bulbs for every make and model.
LED Bulbs
LED bulbs are a brighter option for your car. They are highly energy-efficient using less power from your vehicle's battery. They have greater longevity than halogen bulbs.
150-300% brighter than halogen and they can last up to 10 years. The downside is that they are more expensive than halogen bulbs.
Unfortunately, although it is legal to have LED bulbs internally in your car, there is no legislation to approve the use of replacement LED lights externally. And since 2021, MOT testing centres will now fail LED upgrade bulbs unless they were fitted by the manufacturer.
Xenon Bulbs
Xenon HID bulbs have a xenon gas which is 300-450% brighter than standard halogen bulbs and they can come in different colours. They should be replaced around every 3 years and in pairs.
Like LED bulbs there is currently no legislation for Xenon bulbs to use legally as replacement bulbs in your car. Unless fitted originally by the manufacturer.
