What is a MAP Sensor?

Manifold absolute pressure sensors (or MAP sensors for short) provide accurate air pressure measurements that help ensure efficient engine performance. Typically used in fuel-injected engines, the MAP sensor monitors intake manifold pressure, allowing the ECU to calculate the correct fuel injection for optimum performance.
